Description

Toolbox procedure

CN/CNX-Series

Provides options for resetting the program and rebooting the control system.

The Crestron Toolbox supports 2-Series and later control systems.

Program Reset (F10)

Restarts the SIMPL program.

From any tool:

• Press Alt+P (if not assigned to another function during Quick Function Setup).

1. ClickRestart.

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click SIMPL Program.

3. Click Restart.

-or-

1. Click the Quick access function button .

2. Click SIMPL Program (if not removed during Quick Function Setup).

3. Click Restart.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click SIMPL Program.

4. Click Restart.

Control System Reboot

Reboots the control system.

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Device Reset.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click Device Reset.

Erase Program

Erases the SIMPL program in the control system.

From any tool:

1. Press Alt+P (if not assigned to another function during Quick Function Setup).

2. Click Erase.

1. Click the Quick access function button .

2. Click SIMPL Program (if not removed during Quick Function Setup).

3. Click Erase.

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click SIMPL Program.

3. Click Erase.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click SIMPL Program.

4. Click Erase.

Erase Web Pages

Erases all Web pages from the control system's internal Web server.

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Web Pages.

3. Click Erase Web Pages.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click Web Pages.

4. Click Erase Web Pages.

Erase Mailbox

Erases the contents of the mailbox in the control system.

From the File Manager tool:

1. Open the Mailbox directory under Internal Flash.

2. Right-click the file.

3. Click Delete File(s).

Show Error Log

Displays the control system's error log.

From the System Info tool:

• Automatically reported under Extended Info.

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Error Log.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click Error Log.

Copy Error Log to Clipboard

Copies the contents of the error log to the clipboard for pasting to a file.

See 'Save Error Log to File'.

Save Error Log to File

Saves the error log to a text file.

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Error Log.

3. Click Save As.

4. Name the file and locate the target directory.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click Error Log.

4. Click Save As.

5. Name the file and locate the target directory.

Clear Error Log

Clears the error log data from the control system.

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Error Log.

3. Click Clear Error Log in Device.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click Error Log.

4. Click Clear Error Log in Device.

Send Break (Alt+K)

Sends a break signal to the device (RS-232 only).

The break signal is a space condition (logic 0) of longer duration than a character.

From the Text Console tool:

• Press Alt+K (if not assigned to another function during Quick Function Setup).

1. Click the Communications menu.

2. Click Send Break.

Set Baud Rate (F8)

Sets the control system baud rate for RS-232 communication (default = 115200).

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Serial Communications.

3. Set the baud rate and other serial settings.

From the Text Console:

• Press F8 (if not assigned to another function during Sequence Key Setup).

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click Serial Communications.

4. Set the baud rate and other serial settings.

Set Control System Clock (F6)

Sets the control system's clock (date and time of day).

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click System Clock.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click System Clock.

Set Front Panel Password

Sets the four-digit password for access to the control system's front panel.

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Display Message.

3. Click Password.

4. Select the four-digit numeric code from the drop-down lists.

5. Click Change.

Set Control System IP Information

Sets the control system's IP information (requires an RS-232 connection the first time these settings are specified).

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Ethernet Addressing.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click Ethernet Addressing.

Setup IP Table

Sets up the IP table for Ethernet communication.

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click IP Table Setup.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click IP Table Setup.

Set TCP/IP Console Password

Sets the alpha-numeric password for access to the control system console over TCP/IP.

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Ethernet Addressing.

3. Click Password.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click Ethernet Addressing.

4. Click Password.

Set Network ID

Sets the Cresnet ID of network devices.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the NET ID.

2. Click Change Network ID.

3. Type the new ID.

Set Transmitter ID

Sets the Transmitter ID of an IR remote (requires a CNIDC IR probe).

Set RFGWX Channel

Sets the RF channel (from 00 to 0F) of the CNRFGWX or STRFGWX gateway.

From the System Info tool (requires direct connection to the RF gateway):

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click RF Settings.

Put touch screen into Setup Mode

Puts the touch screen into setup mode (displays the setup page).

From the System Info tool (when connected to the panel):

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Setup Mode.

3. Click Enter Setup Mode.

From the Network Device Tree (when connected to the control system):

1. Right-click the network ID of the panel.

2. Click View Setup Screen.

Put Touchpanel into Calibrate Mode

Puts the touch screen into calibration mode (displays the calibration page).

From the System Info tool (when connected to the panel):

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Setup Mode.

3. Click Enter Calibration Mode.

From the Network Device Tree (when connected to the control system):

1. Right-click the network ID of the panel.

2. Point to Functions.

3. Select Setup Mode.

4. Click Enter Calibration Mode.

Enter Passthrough Mode

Puts the control system into passthrough mode, allowing communication with a serial device.

Open the Address Book and create an Indirect Address entry for the serial device.

To exit passthrough mode select a new address.

Exit Passthrough Mode

Turns off passthrough mode.

Configure CNXTA Telephone Audio Interface Card

Uploads and manages WAV files to a CNXTA card.

The CNXTA is not supported by Toolbox.

To configure the CEN-TIA, click the telephone icon to open the CEN-TIA Menu Builder tool.

Configure WPR-48

Provides options for configuring the WPR-48 IR/RF remote.

From the System Info tool (requires direct connection to the WPR-48):

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Configuration.

Additional

To add the WPR-48 to the Address Book:

1. Click the DeviceType list.

2. Click OK when the warning is displayed.

3. Select WPR-48 as the Device Type.

This will automatically fill in the serial settings. You can then use a serial cable to connect the WPR-48 directly to the PC.

Assign Serial Number

Changes the serial number of touch-settable devices.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Click the serial number to select it.

2. Type the new serial number.

Serial Number <--> TSID Conversion Tool

Converts a serial number to a touch-settable ID (TSID), and vice-versa.

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click Serial Number Conversion.

e-Control 2 Activation

Activates the e-Control 2 license.

e-Control 2 activation is now only required for XPanel PDA. All other XPanel applications can be used without licensing.

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click e-Control 2 Activation.

Set NVRAM Disk Size

Sets the size of the NVRAM disk (64K or 128K).

From the System Info tool:

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click NVRAM Disk.

From the Network Device Tree:

1. Right-click the top-level Network Devices item and select Show Network View.

2. Right-click the control system and point to Functions.

3. Click NVRAM Disk.

Get XM Subscription Number

Retrieves the hardware ID (serial number) of the XM receiver.

From the System Info tool (requires direct connection to the XM receiver):

1. Click the Functions menu.

2. Click XM Receiver.
