Anyways my question is on the Kerry lathe between the bed and the base cabinet there is a strip of Felt or wool or something. If you read Tonys site it says it had this because the bolts where just there to keep in place and where not tightened so if they base cabinet was off it would not twist the bed. What is this material? or what could be used in its place? as mine are so compacted from time I think they are a bit harder than 1018. They almost look like wool but it is hard to tell.
As always any help would be greatly appreciated
